Have The Bruins Rited The Ship?

By Ryan Whitfield

The Bruins have there second two game win streak of the month, but things suddenly feel a lot different. With the 8-0 rout the other night against the Leafs the Bruins now have a 3 point lead with with two in hand and ten games to go. A win tomorrow night in San jose will have the B’s up 5 with one in hand. If Ottawa loses on Friday the Bruins will all but lock up the division, and can hopefully afford to put Turco in net a few times to give Thomas some rest.

The Bruins have been playing much better the last two games and theres finally a lot to be encouraged about. First Julien made a move before Philly that he did after going down 2-0 in the Montreal series last year. The shut down D pair is back with Sidenberg and Chara together and it seems to have sparked a much better defensive game now. Also Thomas has looked a lot better and made some big saves when called upon, though he only needed to make 13 saves on Monday night. Third of all Peverley is making this 3 game road trip to the West with the team and could be back by the end of it or the start of the next home game.

This road trip will be very important. If the Bruins can get at least 4 points things will look good. But like the rest of you I will be watching to hopefully see the game play stay high as we move for the playoffs. The secondary scoring needs to continue, the Bruins are 15-0 when Chris Kelly scores this year. Third line scoring, or depth scoring in general is key, and Tim Thomas needs to be in playoff mode.
